Hey, y’all! It’s been a minute since I did an update here, but it’s finally time to catch everyone up on what’s going on with me and my little bookish sphere. I took a bit of a break after The Way Home was released, but I’m finally back at it again. I have a LOT going on and coming up, and I want to kind of delve into that a little bit. So let’s get going!

The Rag & Bone Trilogy: I have a brand new trilogy on the very near horizon called Rag & Bone. It’s a post-apocalyptic/pandemic saga that I started in 2019 (well before COVID, which is scary) and then shelved because of the actual pandemic going on. I finally dusted it off, and book one is coming out this September! It’s called Transmission, and it’s slated to come out on 9-15. I’m currently working on book two, and so far things are going really well. It’s an entirely new type of story for me, but I needed to get away from the Rust books, and this was a really great way to branch out from that.

The Dreadful Seasons Series: The really BIG thing that I have going on right now is a four book series called Dreadful Seasons. These are horror/thriller/mystery books that each take place in a different season of the year (winter, spring, summer, and fall) and in different decades (the 1960’s, 1980’s, 1990’s, and 1920’s). I have one book completely finished, another that’s partially done, and the ideas for the remaining two sketched out and ready to go. If Rag & Bone is a departure from the style that people are used to from me, then this is WAY outside the realm of what I was releasing before. These are the types of stories I really WANT to be writing, and I just hope that dedicated readers will find these tales as interesting as I do. All of the stories intertwine in subtle ways (places, people, and references that pass between each story), and I feel pretty confident that people will enjoy these. Especially the fall book, which I really consider to be the best thing I’ve ever written.

Bequeathed: This is a new horror short story that I’m working on right now. It’s in the same sort of vein as Murder Mittens, in that it’s just pure gory horror for entertainment value. I like a good gory story now and then, but I don’t really want to write full length books that are NOTHING but gore. So if you were a fan of Mittens, or just like this kind of thing in general, I’m hoping to have this done and out sometime in the next few weeks (or at least by sometime in July).

As for everything else, I do hope to have another book release in the winter (before Christmas, I think). I’m not sure yet which story I’ll be using, but it’s a tie right now between A Shark In Lola’s Pond and Heart of War. Those books, I think, will appeal more to the folks who enjoyed the Rust series and are more interested in that kind of young adult/coming of age type of story. Though Heart of War is also a historical novel, which gives it more layers.

So, that is what is up with me right now! I have seven books between two new series, plus about four that I have sitting on reserve at the moment. They’re finished, they just need to be edited and all that fun stuff. My main priority right NOW is getting Transmission cleaned up for release, and to finish book two so there isn’t a massive lull between release times.

That’s all for now! I hope you’re all doing good, and staying healthy with all the lifted restrictions and whatnot going on. What are you reading right now? Any good book recommendations? Let me know in the comments!
