Hey guys!

It was a busy week, so I didn’t get to do much of an update until today. There is a lot to unpack in this one, so let’s just drive right in with the first thing:

A Crooked Mile has been nominated for a TCK Publishing Readers Choice Award! You can vote for it here, and it’s on page 12. I’d appreciate any and all votes, though I don’t anticipate winning. It’s just nice to be included!

The next thing is that A Crooked Mile is on sale for $0.99 right now leading up to the release of A Different Shade of Blue on Monday! You can get it here on Amazon in ebook form, though the print book is just $5.62 right now and features the gorgeous new cover art by Mandi Kerr! It’s also free to read on Kindle Unlimited!

The new cover of A Crooked Mile!

A Different Shade of Blue is still available for pre-order right now. You can get the ebook here on Amazon, and it will be released this coming Monday (9/14/2020). You can also order a print copy directly from me ahead of the release for $14.00 (that’s including the shipping) and you can do that through PayPal using sammah@gmail.com. If you’d prefer to wait, however, the physical copies will also be for sale on Amazon on 9/14/2020.

This coming Monday I will be doing a live book launch on Instagram Live at 7:00, and on Facebook Live at around 7:30 if anyone is interested! The links for both are below:

My book box contest is over and the winners were announced (Erin Foster and April Elliott) but I’m doing a second contest for the month of September! Starting today if you sign up for my mailing list you have the chance to win both books that are available so far in the Rust Series (A Crooked Mile and A Different Shade of Blue) OR a free copy of my horror short story Murder Mittens. I will draw randomly from the email pool for two sets of the books, and then ten people will get a free copy of the short.

Sign up for that using this post!

Speaking of the short, you can now pre-order my horror story Murder Mittens through Amazon! It’s for Kindle only (no print book, sorry) and is just $0.99! It will release on October 1st, just in time for spooky season, and hopefully people will enjoy it. It’s a short and sweet 23 pages, but I feel like it’s a lot of fun. The pre-order link is here!

I’ve been putting together a plan for the rest of the year, and for upcoming releases. This is not set in stone, but it’s what I HOPE will happen over the next few months:

-October will be all about editing. There won’t be any new releases at this time, just me working on what comes next.

-November will be primarily dedicated to NaNoWriMo. I’m torn between a couple of projects right now, but I will be sure to update about it once I know what I’m doing and start putting together the plot and characters. The month will likely be mostly me posting about the progress, while also doing some more editing if I finish early or have some more free time.

-December is the month I HOPE to release the next Rust book! I’m calling this book Rust #0.5 because it takes place before book #1. It will be a little shorter than the other two novels, but still able to hold it’s on. It’s called A Narrow Road, and it features Alec as the main character. It’s strange to go back to him, but I think readers will like to see the start of his journey. Or, at least, I hope that they do! I’m crossing my fingers right now for a December 14th release, which puts it three months after the release of Blue and ahead of the Christmas rush. As I said before, this isn’t set in stone, but I’m hopeful!

-As of right now I plan to wrap up the Rust series in 2021 with The Way Home (the third and final book) and A Shark In Lola’s Pond for certain. If those two go well I have several other things that are already complete that I’d like to get off my plate if it’s at all possible. It just remains to be seen!

Sorry this was such a long update! I’m going to do another post possibly tomorrow about all the things I utilize in the writing process, from computer applications to notebooks. So hopefully y’all stick around for that!

Get excited! A Different Shade of Blue is almost here!
